  1. Are all ages of rider accepted?

    We accept riders aged 8 and up.

  2. Do I need my own horse to ride?

You do not need your own horse to ride here at Rockleigh Equestrian Centre. We have a small lesson program available to the public! Lessons are from 4:00-6:00 Tuesdays-Thursdays, and from 1:00-3:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. Lessons are by appointment only, so please use our contact page to reach out about scheduling a lesson.

3. How much are lessons, and what equipment do I need?

Lessons are $65 per 30 minute lesson. This lesson is private and full service. All riders must have on long pants (leggings, jeans, sweats, etc.) and shoes with a slight heel (no flip flops, sneakers, flats, slippers). We have a full locker of helmets available for the public to use.

4. Do you offer any trail rides?

While our facilities do back up directly to equestrian-sanctioned trails, these trails are only accessible to boarders and approved leasers. We do not offer any public trail riding.

5. What kind of riding do you teach?

We are primarily a hunter-jumper facility that stresses proper equitation and knowledge of the rider’s aids. We do have several riders who also participate in hunter paces, western and dressage. Our trainers have diverse riding and training backgrounds from the hunter ring, to the grand prix ring, to reining and even polo. So even if you’re not a hunter-jumper rider, come check us out!

6. How much is boarding? How much is leasing?

We have many options when it comes to leasing and boarding. Please reach out to us via our contact page so we can more thoroughly answer any pricing questions and discuss your exact needs.

7. What are your hours of operation? Are you available for walk-ins?

Our hours are Tuesday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We are closed Mondays and Fridays. We are a PRIVATE facility, so we are not available for walk-ins. Please be sure to contact us ahead of time via email, text or phone call so we can schedule a visit at a time that works for everyone and we can provide the attention you deserve!

8. Can we book a party at REC? Do you do pony rentals/Girl Scout Horsemanship badges?

Our program is strictly for training, boarding and lessons. We are unable to accommodate Girl Scout troops, events, rentals or birthdays at this time.

9. Do you take volunteers?

We do accept voluneers under the following conditions: 1) Volunteers must be 18 and older. 2) Volunteers must be able to perform the following tasks; haltering, picking feet, leading, turning in and out, grooming, tacking and untacking, sweeping, blanketing. At this time, we are not able to take volunteers under age 18 or train those who do not have basic horsemanship skills.
