Meet the Staff

Lucia and her horse, Logan.

Lucia Rittenhouse - Head Trainer

Lucia’s passion for horses began with her first lesson at age six, when she learned the intimate connection between horse and rider. By the age of 13, she was learning firsthand the discipline and dedication the horse industry requires by working as a barn hand and training ponies. As an FEI groom, rider and manager, Lucia worked along side such high profile professionals including Olympic Gold Medalist and World Cup competitor Laura Kraut, Pan American and Olympic Games competitor Lauren Hough and Olympian Anne Kursinski.

As Barn Manager and Head Trainer for Rockleigh Equestrian Centre, Lucia oversees every aspect of our horses’ care. She develops an individualized program for each of our horses from feeding protocols to training and exercise regimens, ensuring they reach top competitive fitness. She oversees the training of all our riders, working with them to set goals and establishing a training schedule designed for success.

When not “on duty," Lucia enjoys spending time with her daughter, Ofelia

.

Stacy and client horse, Costa.

Stacy Ulbrich - Assistant Trainer

Stacy began taking lessons at the age of 9, and by 11 had grown an affinity for young and nervous horses. She took this passion into her first jobs, among them being gentling babies, restarting Thoroughbreds off the track and working with polo ponies. She spent her college years at Virginia Intermont College’s world-renowned equestrian program and enjoyed some success on its Intercollegiate Horse Show Association team.

Out of school she worked various positions as an instructor, trainer and manager at well-known programs including Judgement Farm and North Run. Stacy spends her days at Rockleigh Equestrian Centre as a trainer, instructor and manager, and loves empowering riders to become the smartest and best educated riders they can be.

Stacy hopes to one day enter the show ring again on a competitive level in the hunter and jumper rings. In the meantime, she loves spending time with her animals and husband.

Rebecca and her dog, Tito.

Rebecca Pearson began her horseback riding career at 10 years old and enjoyed a variety of disciplines and settings since then. She went to an agricultural high school and focused on small and large animal studies.

Afterwards, she earned her Equine Studies degree at SUNY Cobleskill and began her professional equine career shortly after.

Her days at Rockleigh involve the daily care of our horses and riders alike, as well as regularly schooling Rockleigh’s lesson horses and teaching beginner-intermediate lessons. Rebecca spends time outside of the barn with her family and farm favorite, her dog, Tito.
